I thinks it's probably safe to say that we won't be in Manitoba for Christmas this year. We have so much going on at the house as we get closer and closer and closer to being.....dare I say it....done. I suppose when it comes to a house you aren't ever done, but you get the drift. Insulation and vapor barrier inspection complete.
We still have to complete our WET inspection for the chimney pipe, yes we have a woodstove... yay! That was my idea and Terr has somewhat reluctantly heeded my wish for a cozy warm fire and emergency heat for those days the power goes out for hours on end. A regular occurrence in this part of the world.
Some drywall has been hung and will be continued on Monday morning. I'm not sure how long that will take to finish but then we let the taper get at it. We will be painting before Christmas but will spend the holidays in our cozy trailer. Interestingly enough, aside from the A.M. bathroom queue, I think we've adapted to our living space. I am sure we will find the new large house to be quite......spacious. Until of course we adapt once again and carry on. Amazing, humans are.
I finally handed my resume over to the School District, pray and think positive thoughts for me. I'm not quite as qualified as they want in this province so I have to hope they will consider my experience in the field.
Terr and I finally changed our drivers licences over so I guess we are official now. Can't move back without jumping through the hoops all over again.
This weekend our social calendar is full! Tonite is a friends 50th ....if you were at our wedding you may have met Ron who was Terry's best man. Ron's wife has taken over one of the local Pub's for the evening. Being musicians and having plenty of friends likewise involved there will be lots of good music and cheer. Then Sunday the whole family will head over to another friends place to a Truffle/Pizza party. Some of us are making chocolates for holiday gift giving (or eating) and Jeff will cook us all pizza in his wood-fired pizza oven.
On that note I should get back to my spanikopita that I am making to bring to the birthday party! Have a great weekend everyone.
