| an artistic portion of Shasta's closet |
We have painted many many hours, many colors, and even a few textures. We let Shasta go nuts in her closet rather than letting her have her way with the walls. She was very excited flinging paint around. After the priming and ceilings were all done it still took an entire week to paint the colors on the walls. It is very exciting at first to see the big change that color brings to the whole place.....after a week you just want it done already. Well, now it is done.
During the week of painting madness I found out that I was accepted into the Early Childhood Education Assistant Program at Selkirk College. We started on Tuesday with a week of 8 hour seminars. So for the week immediately following painting I was commuting into Nelson everyday. It was a good week of meeting the other students and getting to know each other during our workshops as many of them were interactive. It was also nice to meet some of the instructors that we will be working with in our online courses for the rest of the school year.
Terry has been continuing on with cabinets, countertops, and laying flooring.

Nik is leaving tomorrow for Idaho wher his Stage Band class is attending the Jazz Festival previouly mentioned. During this past week we had a huge fundraising event at the school. Cafe Jazz. The kids played and a local jazz band, Hornography played as well. Dessserts and coffee were sold and we hosted a large silent auction. The kids are all very excited to go on this 5 day trip. The hard part has been getting him off the phone in order to pack. Nik is in love and constantly communicating in some way or another with the object of his affection. Terry laughs sometimes because she will be here for hours yet when she leaves she calls as soon as she gets home. Sometimes we wonder how she made home so quick. Ahhh...to be young....

On Thursday I am going to go snowshoeing with Shasta and Julian's class. They are doing an outdoor survival skill day. Then we will pick up the stain for the floor as that project will soon be ready to go. I will try to fit some school reading and assignments in there somewhere. So we are all busy and doing very well. I will try to update again on a weekly basis.
Peace and Blessings to all.
